1. Loose leaves, shrubbery trimmings, and branches must be properly separated and neatly piled at the curbside to facilitate efficient collection.
2. Please keep leaves contained to the roadside, not in the street or gutter. Leaves are not to be placed blocking the street, storm drains or drainage ditches nor shall they be deposited on top of a water meter box.
3. Town residents must ensure that all grass clippings and pine straw are bagged (maximum bag size 30 gallons) and close to the curb so that debris does not block the street. Do not blow clippings into the street as they will eventually block storm drains.
4. Branches exceeding four inches in diameter or four feet in length are not eligible for pickup. It is recommended that property owners who hire external contractors for tree and shrub maintenance include debris removal services in their contractual agreement.
5. All trees and shrubs must be trimmed to not block the view of the traffic on corner lots. Also, trees which overhang a public walk must be trimmed so that no limb hangs lower than seven feet above the walk. If the property owner does not voluntarily keep the trees properly trimmed the Town will trim the trees and bill the property owner.
6. It is the property owner’s responsibility to dispose of the following and similar items:
• Building materials such as brick, sheet rock, lumber, tile, paint cans, etc.
• Appliances such as air conditioners, water heaters, washers, etc.
• Household items
7. The Town does not permit the burning of leaves or other materials.
